Digital Literacy/ Information Literacy

Digital literacy is the skill set needed to be an active participant in a knowledge-based society. Becoming digitally literate includes increasing one’s capacity to navigate, evaluate and create information. Additionally, it includes behaviors and competencies that illustrate the effective use of software, applications and digital devices such as smart phones, tablets, and computers for the purpose of expression, engagement, collaboration, advocacy, and innovation.


Information literacy, simply put, is our ability to know when more information is needed, how to find it and once found, how to determine if it is useful and relevant.Being information literate in the 21st century includes using digital platforms and technological tools to obtain and share that knowledge.
